Lara Brookstein

I am an avid trail runner, cyclist and lover of the outdoors with a passion for the human body, physiology, Physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

I qualified from the University of Cape Town (UCT) with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2015. The next year, I completed my community service year in Johannesburg at various public health clinical settings. It was during this year that I developed a growing interest for sports and orthopaedic injuries as well as chronic pain management. This led me to complete various post-graduate courses to further my knowledge. These included: level 1 and advanced dry needling; the BASI Pilates Mat Work Instructors Course as well as a 1 year Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) course which has been invaluable to the way I assess, diagnose and treat clients.

I have been fortunate to gain great experience and exposure in multiple private hospital and out-patient practices in Johannesburg and in 2018 I started my own practice within a corporate wellness centre focusing on health prevention and promotion. 

I have recently enrolled in a 1 year course in Functional Health Coaching through the ADAPT Institute which I believe will assist me further in the holistic treatment of chronic pain management and rehabilitation for my clients.
